Mechanical Desing Intern (m/f/d)
What to expect:
As an intern at Tesla's Engineering Germany, you will support the team with the design of cutting-edge, world-class power converters used across the entirety of Tesla, from Vehicle and Energy Storage to Solar and Manufacturing. You will be joining an elite team of driven engineers with a huge scope, reach, and potential impact.
What to do:
· Collaborate with the team for modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, insulation systems, magnetic components, high voltage connectors, fasteners and other components
· Support with Mechanical Design Analysis including thermal, CFD, structural FEA, design for assembly and design for test
· Participate in all aspects of solving electronics packaging issues including: electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, shock and vibration management, electromagnetic interference (EMI), RF communications, etc.
· Cooperate closely with other mechanical systems, electrical, digital control, manufacturing, industrial design, and test engineers to take designs from prototype through mass production
· Assist in engineering prototype builds and component fabrication
· Prepare engineering test plans for designs
· Create template drawing packages and manufacturing instructions for parts and assemblies
What to bring:
· Ongoing studies in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
· Reliable and independent working mindset
· Enthusiasm for new technologies and technical possibilities
· Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss any issues with a wide variety of individuals and groups
· Analytical mindset, hands on approach and problem-solving oriented
· Fluency in English
· Previous internship and/or project experience is a plus
